Reducing the academic mental health stigma can save lives.

I would like to thank the Chief Editor of Nature Reviews Urology Annette Fenner for the invitation to write about academic mental health and my own lived experience. I am honored and grateful about this opportunity and think that it is wonderful to give this important subject another big platform:

When we watch Sheldon Copper in Big Bang Theory, we like to laugh at his anxiety disorder. From myself and some of my colleagues, I know that this is common in people whose brains are trained to think everything through to the end, and it takes away any joy in life.
Anna, thank you for your work and your courage to talk openly about it. I wish I had the courage too!
    This topic is so important.
